Edie’s life began on February 8, 1935 in Wellington. She is the daughter of Elwood G. and Thelma I. (Harrison) DeYoe. Edie is a 1953 graduate of Wellington High School. She was united in marriage to Charles F. Diffendal, Jr. on November 27, 1955 in Wellington. Edie enjoyed trips on their Gold Wing motorcycle and spent 13 years in the Gold Wing Riders Club. She was an avid bowler and secretary of the woman’s bowling association for several years. She loved her 17 years of camping in Toronto with her husband and her lake family. Edie worked for several years as the bookkeeper for Walter’s Flowers and Gifts in El Dorado. Her loving family includes her son Bryan (Cherie) Diffendal of El Dorado; grandchildren Blayzse, Eric, and Ehryn-Joy; sister in law Sharon Diffendal of El Dorado, many nieces and nephews and grand dogs Baxter and Noelle. Edie passed away on May 24, 2018 at St. Francis Via Christi in Wichita. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles in February, and brothers Pierre and Richard DeYoe. Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Walnut Valley Memorial Park for her memorial service. Carlson Colonial Funeral Home is serving the family.
