Doris’s life began on August 13, 1932 in Kincaid, KS. She is the daughter of Daniel and Edith (Lebow) Simpson. Doris is a 1950 graduate of Kincaid High School. She was united in marriage to Wayne E. Butler on December 5, 1952 in El Dorado. Doris worked at KT Oil and LED Enterprises as a bookkeeper and Jefferson School cafeteria. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and casino trips. Doris’s greatest joy was her family which includes her sons Lynn (Debi) Butler of El Dorado, Vic (Linda) Butler of El Dorado, daughter in law Gina Butler; grandchildren Ty, Amber, Mike, Doug, Bart, Joni, Jason, Cory and Brian; 13 great grandchildren; brothers in law Richard Butler and Dean Holm and sisters in law Delores Butler, Dixie Holm, Wanda Frakes, Faith Butler and Kathy Butler. Doris passed away on April 17, 2019 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne Butler, son Tony Butler, grandchildren Nikki Saia and Scotty Butler, sister Lois Blackburn and brother Lewis McAtee. Private graveside services will be held at Sunset Lawns Cemetery on Wednesday led by Pastor Douglas Hodgens. Carlson Colonial Funeral Home is serving the family.
