Tribute
Donald E. Brickley and Jean B. Brickley passed away within 36 hours of each other on Saturday, November 2, 2019, after
67 years of marriage. Don was born April 13, 1932 at Oil Hill. He was the son of Ray and Opal (Ingersoll) Brickley. Jean was born
November 18, 1932 at Greer’s Ferry, Missouri. She was the daughter of William and Lillie (Rice) Bell.
They graduated from El Dorado High School with the class of 1950, and were married in 1952. Don served overseas in the
Army during the Korean War. He worked at Cities Service, Tretolite , then owned and operated, Chem-Co, Inc.
Jean was a homemaker. She also worked at the Butler County News, Dun and Bradstreet, ran Yogi Bear Pre-School, and owned the Apple Orchard Gift and Antique Store.
God, family, and friends were always at the center of their activities and life. They were members of First Baptist Church of El Dorado. Their lives were
filled with their children’s friends, sporting events, playing bridge, and get togethers with “Fidgety Fifteen” ladies.
Surviving family includes: Kay (Wayne) Taylor of El Dorado, Jan Thompson of Haiti, John (Christine) Brickley of El Dorado, and Steve Crosley of El Dorado.
The twenty grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren made their life complete. Don’s sister, Dixie Burgess lives in Park City.
They were preceded in death by their daughter, Gay Crosley of El Dorado, their parents, Don’s brother, Phillip, Jean’s brother, Luke Bell and sister, Maxine Gower.
Through all the struggles and joys, they followed the hand of God. Their send-off was a beautiful ending to a life well lived…Still together….forever.

Visitation will be held at the home of John and Christine Brickley, 107 S.E. Bluestem Road on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 5:00 PM
Their together funeral is Tuesday, November 12 at 10:00 at First Baptist (315 W. Central) with lunch for all, to follow. Burial will be at Blankenship Cemetery in Rosalia after lunch.
Because Mother loved her parties, a “come and go” celebration will be held after graveside services, for all who can come, at the home of John and Christine Brickley. Psalm 116:15
Memorials are to Christopher’s Hope Ministry (CHM) in care of Carlson’s Funeral Home, 200 S. Star.
