Dianna’s life began on January 31, 1956, the twin sister of Donna Lou and the daughter of Donald and Lorna (Sanford) Mead in El Dorado, Kansas. She graduated from Leon High School Class of 1974, and then went onto receive her Associates Degree in Applied Science. Dianna was a Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing at the Augusta Medical Complex. She loved the outdoors, fishing, and camping and was an avid reader.
She married Theodore “Ted” Carter in 1974, in El Dorado. He preceded her in death. Later she married Ray Houser in Augusta in 1996, and he also preceded her. Dianna passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2018, having reached the age of 62 years old. She is also preceded by her parents.
Her loving family includes her children, Chastity Carter of Wichita, twins, Theodore “Ted” Carter and Donald (Heather) Carter, Chad Carter (Kimberly) all of El Dorado; siblings, her twin, Donna Jerome (Donald) of Mulvane and Julie Manion (David) of El Dorado; grandchildren, Shea, Satchel, Skylar and Sierra VanArsdale, Sophia Carter, Hannah Carter, Harper and Taelor Carter; great-granddaughter, Kyndi Stephens; many nieces and nephews and her beloved Jack Russell Terrier “Jack”.
Her family will gather with friends to share memories on Wednesday, August 29, from 10-12 noon at Carlson Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at a later date.
