David Lee Kurnes

David Lee Kurnes, age 56, of El Dorado, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021. David was born on January 12, 1965 to Paul and Florence Kurnes in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He really enjoyed sci-fi movies, with his favorite being Star Wars. He loved to shop at garage sales and flea markets. David collected hot wheels and enjoyed attending and participating in car shows, often showing his 1960's Oldsmobile. He worked for Butler Rural Electric and spent many years as a truck driver, delivering propane and tracking inventory. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him and loved him.
David is preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren.
David is survived by the mother of his children, Leticia Kurnes; children, Jennifer (Josh) Bell, Adelita (Dustin) Orr, Elizabeth (Dex) Voisin, Amanda Stanley, and Jessica Kurnes; siblings, Dennis Kurnes and Bill Kurnes; 12 grandchildren; fiance, Traci Rodgers; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
A private funeral service for family will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 with a visitation one-hour prior, both at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Due to COVID precautions, anyone who is not immediate family is asked to view the service via livestream instead of attending in person. The family would like to limit any type of exposure.
