David H Jones

Dave’s life began on May 8, 1948, the son of Delmar Duane and Dorothy Ruth (Thompson) Jones in El Dorado. He graduated from El Dorado High Class of 1966. He married Marcia Lynn Diver on March 29, 1985, at Trinity United Methodist in El Dorado. Dave was owner/operator of Dave’s Oil Company for over 45 years operating “Big Bertha” and his full service station. His family was most important of all, but he also enjoyed his Mopar cars and detailing them, he was a member of the Shriner’s and was a 32nd degree Mason.

His loving family includes his wife, Marcia of the home; children, Sabrina Tillotson (Paul) of Towanda; David Jones II (Twila) of Towanda, Waylon Jones , Amanda Parsons (Jeremy) all of El Dorado; sisters, Brenda Large (Sid) and Waneta Dunn (Clare) all of El Dorado; 13 grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, Jacob and Josie Tillotson, Justin, Brooke and Tyson Jones, Waylon Jones II, Jayson Jones, Tanner and Tucker Parsons, Shelby Watson, Cole Lovegrove; 3 great-grandchildren, Grayson, Bella and Carson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie Jones and an infant brother, Gary Jones. Dave passed away Friday, May 25, 2018, having reached the age of 70 years old.

His family will gather with friends at True Lies at 601 N Oil Hill Road, in El Dorado for a Celebration of His Life on Friday, June 1, from 3-5 p.m. with service starting at 4:00 p.m. a buffet will be provided.
