Dale Remsberg passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Cassoday,KS on September 30, 2020.
Dale was born in Iola, KS, on September 19, 1937; the son of Ralph and Zella (Tippin) Remsberg.
He graduated from Iola High School. He attended the University of Kansas on a football scholarship where he received his Bachelors Degree. He later earned his Masters Degree from Emporia State University.
Dale’s work career began and spanned several decades at Butler County Community College.
He was a physical education instructor and coach. Many of the track and field and football teams he was associated with won several conference and national championships.
Dale coached many players who went on to successful major college careers. Several of his players competed in the NFL, and he coached one Olympian.
In retirement Dale worked at the El Dorado Livestock Auction, Locke Grass and Cattle and operated his own ranch in Cassoday.
Dale served in Korea as a Lieutenant in the US Army.
He was an Elder in the El Dorado Presbyterian Church and taught adult Sunday school classes.
At the time of his death he was attending the Cassoday Community church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Judy (Hoy) Remsberg, sons, Rick (JoAnna), Tad (Jamie), and daughter Cynthia Ann (Jeff), grandchildren Candis (Steven), Jordan, Kadin (Kailey), Maggie, and Jonah.
Friends may gather with the family from 4-6pm on Sunday, October 4 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home in El Dorado. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 5 at 3pm at Cassoday Community Church. Memorial contributions in Dale’s name may be directed to Cassoday Community Church.
