Claudine’s life began on September 30, 1925, the daughter of Herman and Maggie (Savely) Kamp in Beaver County, Oklahoma. She graduated from Laverne, Oklahoma High School Class of 1945, and married Keith Vincent Cofield on September 21, 1945, in Wichita. She retired from Aeromach Labs as an aircraft instrument technician. Claudine was a member of the Leon Christian Church, and formally an active member of the Home Demonstration Unit through the Butler County Extension office. She loved quilting, sewing, bird watching, farm animals, along with watching deer and turkey running through her yard.
Her loving family includes her children, Sharon Knight of Wichita, Ronald Cofield of Leon, Jerry and his wife Sandra Cofield of Leon; sister, Juanita Henricks of Logan, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith in 1985; sisters, Evelyn Elam and Jean Zetterberg. Claudine passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2018, having reached the age of 93 years old.
Her family will gather with friends on Thursday, October 11, from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held at Leon Christian Church on Friday, October 12, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Kelly Benton officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Leon Cemetery.
