Clark "Sonny" Shuler, Jr.

March 25, 1946 ~ May 18, 2021 (age 75)

Clark “Sonny” Nelson Shuler Jr passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the age of 75 with his loving daughter holding his hand. Sonny’s life began on March 25, 1946 in Guymon, Oklahoma, son to Clark and Gladys Shuler. After graduating high school, Sonny went on to join the Army and served his country proudly as a drill sergeant. He had one daughter, Stefanie, who was his pride and joy. His grandson, Tyler, was really the son he never had. But he also had several grandkids technically, as he was the resident grandpa with Circle School District. He went to as many games as he could and would cheer on kids who didn’t have anyone there to watch their games. He was even awarded several years ago as Circle’s Number One Fan. Sonny loved sports, especially local sports. He was a big WSU fan and would go to games often. He was also a big OU Sooners fan, Cowboys fan, he enjoyed watching the Braves play baseball, and enjoyed watching basketball. Sonny had a big heart for his family. He loved his mother and before her passing he would call her every Sunday and he even took her to a Kansas City Chiefs game at one point. He missed her dearly after her passing. His greatest passion in life was his family, including friends that became family as the years went on. Sonny, at the age of 75, still had friends that he made in high school. His friends were so important to him and he was often the best man at weddings in his younger days. He loved his daughter, grandson, great-grandson, and nephew more than anything in the world. He will be dearly missed by all.
Sonny is survived by his daughter, Stefanie (Joey) Alonso; grandson, Tyler (Britney) Shuler; great-grandson, Ryker Shuler; sister, Vickie (Steve) Christian; nephew, Philip Moore; and numerous friends.
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jacquie Shuler.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 5-7pm at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home, with a funeral service to take place on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 1pm at The Benton Church.
Memorial donations in Sonny’s name can be made to The Benton Church to support the church and children with sports.
