Chet’s life began on January 2, 1942; the son of Raymond and Anna (Davis) Johnson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a tank mechanic while abroad in Germany. Chet enjoyed working on cars and dirt bikes. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years and enjoyed being outdoors. He enjoyed bonfires and hunting. Chet was known for making homemade ice cream as well as cobblers in the Dutch ovens. Chet loved watching John Wayne movies and had notebooks filled with his favorites. His greatest joy was his family which includes his sons, Byron (Teresa) Johnson of Towanda and Robert (Lisa) Johnson of Rosalia; grandchildren, Katelyn (Casey) McCoy, James Rowley, Sarah (Bryan) Crom, Alisha (Troy) Garcia and Amanda Hopper; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings Bobbie (Pat) Butler, Carla (Harold) Gum and Beverly Greenlee. Chet passed away at his home in Rosalia on August 7, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond (Peggy) Johnson, Tom Johnson, and sister Sharon (Milton) Graham. Friends may gather with the family from 5-8pm at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Chet will be laid to rest at Sunset Lawns Cemetery during a private service. A memorial will be held at a later date.
