Charles William Smith

Charles William Smith was born May 6, 1928 to Allen and Mary (Kelley) Smith. He served in the US Air Force and participated in the Berlin Air Lift, dropping food and supplies to the starving families behind the wall. Charles continued his military career, serving in the Kansas Air National Guard, until his retirement in 1985.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Joyce, his brother Clifford (Judy) of Skiatook, OK and four children: Charles Smith of Tacoma, WA, Peggy Connolly of El Dorado, TJ (Lynne) Smith of Wichita and Stacy (Matt) Guthrie of El Dorado. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday November 7, 2019 at Kechi United Methodist Church, followed by a 3:00 PM graveside service with full military honors at the South Lawns Cemetery in Severy, KS.
