Carol Sue (Youngland) Knox, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the age of 83. Sue was born on October 13, 1937 in Eureka, Kansas to Warren and Lela (Brayfield) Joy. Sue married her first love, Delavin L Youngland (Heavy) on July 2, 1959 in Eureka, Kansas. From this marriage two children were born, Jackie and Danny. After Sue lost Delavin on March 16, 1982, she found love again with Howard Knox. Sue and Howard were married until his passing, on June 16, 1999. Sue spent her time crocheting and sending out her Hallmark cards. She was known for sending a Hallmark card to people for everything. She retired from Hallmark after more than 20 years of service to them. Sue loved people and never met a stranger. She was a very loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Jeffery) Haynes; grandchildren, Matt (Pam) Haynes, Amanda Guiles, Mark Haynes, and Mike (Rachel) Haynes; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sue is preceded in death by her first love and husband, Delavin L Youngland; second husband, Howard Knox; son, Danny Youngland; parents, Warren and Lela (Brayfield) Joy; and brother; Norman Joy.
A Celebration of Life Service is being planned for a later date.
Memorial donations in Sue's name can be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
