Camilla “Lucille” King was born on July 10, 1924 in Matfield Green, Kansas; the daughter of Floyd Sylvester and Julia Ann (Pritchett) Cook. She graduated from El Dorado High School class of 1943 and married Lewis Virden King on August 9, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas. Lucille happily took on the responsibility of care taker for many of her family members. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts, dancing and playing cards. Her greatest joy in life was her family which includes daughter, Camy Cawthorn; grandchildren, San J. (Holly) Cawthorn and Millee (A.J.) Howell; great grandchildren Ellasyn Cawthorn, Cooper Cawthorn and Emerson Howell and special family friend, Alan Pressnell. Lucille passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 95 years of age in Wichita, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virden; son, Richard Lewis King; infant daughter, Patricia; son in law, San W. Cawthorn; two grandchildren; brothers, Ole, Clyde, Linard and Sylvester Cook and sisters, Erma Smith and Susie Deering. Lucille’s family will gather with friends on Friday, September 13, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Kirby-Morris Life Event Center. Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2019 also at the Kirby-Morris Life Event Center at 1:00 PM; burial will immediately follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
