Tribute

Buford’s life began on September 21, 1947 in Lawton, OK; the son of Buford F. and Fannie E. (Darden) Pringle. Buford enjoyed education and went on to earn two master’s degrees but Buford’s passion was coaching football. He was both an educator and coach at Friends University and at Butler Community College. Following his retirement from Butler, he taught and coached at Northwest High School, El Dorado High School, Bluestem High School, and Yale High School. He was united in marriage to Linda Siegrist on January 7, 1973 in El Dorado. He enjoyed waterskiing, being outdoors, camping and spending time at the lake with family. Buford’s greatest joy in life was his family which includes his wife, Linda of Leon; children Bethany (Deron) Pringle-Johnson of Wichita, Kyle (Jody) Pringle of El Dorado and Brie Pringle of Wichita; 1 granddaughter, 9 grandsons, and 1 great-grandson; and 4 sisters. Buford passed away on September 5, 2020 in Wichita. He is preceded in death by his parents. A Family service will be held at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, (1550 N. Chapel Hill Street, Wichita, KS, 67206) on Friday, September 18 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Buford’s name may be directed to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society ( https://donate.lls.org/lls/ ).
