Brenda’s life began on January 15, 1948, the daughter of Dick and Betty (Cowley) Hammon in El Dorado, Kansas. She graduated from El Dorado High, Class of 1966, and then went on to Wichita State University and graduated with an English major in 1972. Brenda worked for her grandmother and her mother at Cape Cod Floral in El Dorado and then later owned and operated the floral shop. She enjoyed crafts, cooking and baking.

Her loving family includes her brothers, Richard (Judy) Hammon of Salina, Kansas, Robert Hammon of Alameda, California; two nephews, Justin (Sara) Hammon of Manhattan, Kansas and Chris (C.J.) Hammon of Salina, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Betty Hammon and her step-father, Alvin Martin. Brenda passed away Friday, December 1, 2017, having reached the age of 69 years old.

At her request the family will have a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be contributed to the American Diabetes Association, 608 W.
