Betty’s life began on March 14, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI. She is the daughter of Thomas Ernest and Ella (Richter) Reger. She was united in marriage to Howard G. Tipton on January 9, 1953 in El Dorado. Betty worked for the First Baptist Church daycare for 38 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Challengers Sunday School class and faithful supporter of the church. Betty loved being helpful to others and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed sewing, flower and vegetable gardening. Her loving family includes her children Ernie (Joy) Tipton of Kempner, TX and Charleen (Robert) Walsh of Toronto; her grandchildren Amy (Tracy) Epp, Alasha Hunt, Christopher Tipton, Tabitha (O.G.) White, Stephanie (Eddie) Gomes and Tanya (Dan) Walsh-Dadson; adopted grandchild Jamie (Chris) Milson and fourteen great grandchildren. Betty passed away on Monday May 28, 2018 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard in 1988, son Ivan in 2015 and her siblings Marvin, Norman, and Kenneth Reger and sister Dorothy Grobe. Her family will gather with friends on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Carlson Colonial Funeral Home where her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. led by Pastor Wade Graber.
