Betty Ann Perry (1931-2018) Age 87, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, retired resident of El Dorado passed away on September 17, 2018 due to Primary Progressive Aphasia. She was born February 24, 1931 in Bunker Hill, KS to Basil and Margaret Arnel. She married Chancey F. Perry, Jr. on December 13, 1948 in Russell, KS. Chancey will miss his love, friend and helpmate. Betty made many quilts for her family. Her daughter is grateful for her wonderful example as a person and all the many things she was taught growing up. Her two grandchildren fondly remember her pancakes and strawberry jam. Her great-grandchildren enjoyed spending time with her during the holidays. She will be deeply missed by her family. Preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Margaret Arnel, three brothers, Otis Arnel, Donald Ray Arnel, and William Arnel and one sister Opal Arnel. Betty is survived by her husband of 69 years Chancey “Red” F. Perry, Jr, daughter Twila (Fred ) Carver, grandchildren Michelle and Anthony, four great grandchildren, sisters Wilma Burris and Mae Dean (Dale) Smith, brothers James (Karen) Arnel and Wayne Arnel. Betty’s family will gather with friends on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Her funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home led by Pastor Stan Seymour. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Betty’s name may be directed to Interim Hospice of Wichita or the Alzheimer’s Association of Wichita.
