Betty’s life began on October 30, 1926 in Beaumont. She is the daughter of Harry and Sadie (Young) Eastin. Betty is a graduate of Leon High School. She was united in marriage to Troy Smith on November 23, 1946 in El Dorado. Betty worked for several years for Circle School District in the Towanda cafeteria where she enjoyed the children and the children enjoyed her. Betty also worked for Walmart in the clothing department. She loved going out to dinner and shopping. She was a devoted wife and mother, and she made the best chocolate pie. Betty was a member of the Arkansas City United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her children Marsha (Jim) Moore of Morrison, OK, Sheila Gann of El Dorado, and Cindy (John) Carson of Towanda; grandchildren Andrea Sewell, Jamie Moore, Troy (Kristie) Carson, Seth Carson, and Megan (John) Tetuan; great grandchildren Zane, Cale, Jaelyn, Michael, Christopher and Alexandra and great great granddaughter Nadia. Betty passed away on December 13, 2017 in Wichita. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Troy in 1977, one brother and one sister. Her family will gather with friends on Saturday from 2-5 p.m. at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Blankenship Cemetery, Rosalia led by Pastor John Martyn.
