Betty’s life began on July 28, 1934 in El Dorado, KS; the daughter of Harold and Thelma (Truman) Honn. Betty was united in marriage to Gary Gene Edwards in 1952 at the age of seventeen. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and camping with Gary. Betty took up flower arranging and was a garden club member. She loved playing cards with family and friends ‘til the wee morning hours. Her greatest joy in life was her family which includes her children Steve (Sue) Edwards of El Dorado, Leah (Tony L.) Gray of Ozark, MO; grandchildren Dawn Thomas of Wichita, Jill (Aaron) Butcher of El Dorado, Tyson Gray of Denver, CO, Lucas (Jessica) Gray of Thayer, KS, Andrea (Justin) Ricke of Murrieta, CA, Jesse (Melissa) Gray of Colorado Springs, CO; 13 great grandchildren; siblings Truman (Helga) Honn of Topeka, KS and Maureen West of Topeka, KS. Betty passed away on February 9, 2020 in Augusta. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary and her parents. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm, on Wednesday, February 12 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, February, 13 at 1pm at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Betty will be laid to rest at Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Susan B. Allen Cancer Center or to the Wichita Alzheimer’s Association.
