Betty’s life began on August 26, 1939 the daughter of Jack and Bernice (Crawford) Evans in El Dorado. Betty attended and graduated from El Dorado High School. She was united in marriage to Charles Brown on May 4, 1963 at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado. Betty enjoyed country music and line dancing and enjoyed taking photos of her family. She was considered a selfless woman and unconcerned with material objects. Betty enjoyed Bible study and enjoyed serving the church. Betty proclaimed her faith and was baptized in 2009. She had a love of popcorn and always had some nearby. Betty passed away on May 20, 2018 at her daughter’s home in El Dorado. Her loving family includes her children Scott (Christine) Brown of Gilbert, AZ and Kristie Brake of El Dorado; grandchildren Megan Brown of Seattle, WA, Rachael Brown of Gilbert, AZ, Rebecca Marvin of El Dorado, Dawson Brake of Towanda and Callie (Jennifer) Samila of Wichita; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers Jim (Diane) Evans of Council Grove, Tom (Kristy) Evans of Augusta and Allen Evans of Allen, KS; several cousins; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends who loved her dearly. Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Chuck. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm on Thursday, May 24 at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, May 25 at the Leon Christian Church led by Pastor Kelly Benton. Betty will be laid to rest at Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado.
