Tribute

In Loving Remembrance
Barbara’s life began on April 4th, 1939 in Potwin, Kansas, the 3rd of four children to Ray and Mildred (MCAdoo) Geer.
She grew up on the family’s 80-acre farm near Potwin, where she spent her entire childhood and attended Potwin School K-12. She was a graduate in the Class of 1957 totaling 14 classmates. She was active in Pep Club, Class Plays, Music and Sports, especially baseball with the boys and was named “Most Athletic” in her class. She also was in the “Blue Beavers” 4-H Club for 6 years and noted as a high achiever in many areas that she continued throughout her life.
In 1958 she married Jerry Scheuerman and was a homemaker with their four children. She was very active in the Butler Co. Community living most her life in Augusta and El Dorado. Her and her children were active in the Butler Co Saddle Club and she placed numerous ribbons and trophies. She was active in the Wichita Twins Club, Bowling Leagues, Co-Ed Softball and her children’s sports. Later in life she married Joe Siemer in 1975 and had her 5th child, starting her second round of having a family.
Barbara continued to stay active later in life, attended 1st Christian Church, in Church Circles, Singles Club, and at times worked 2 jobs, one of those being at Walmart and retiring after over 20 years. Her activities in her younger years kept going into her later years. She loved gardening, hosting family holiday dinners where she always had a goodie bag of her homemade fudge, popcorn balls, and peanut brittle. But she had 2 passions, one being her love of sewing and numerous arts and crafts where she would attend many arts and craft shows or flea markets. Her second love was for all of her grandchildren and always adored showing them off, usually in clothes she had made and would always make them pose for pictures.
Barbara, age 82, passed away December 30th, 2021 at her home in El Dorado, KS after a recent battle of cancer.
