Barbara Harper of Derby, Kansas, formerly of El Dorado, passed away in her home on September 4, 2021. She was 91 years old.
Barbara was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 8, 1929. She moved to Kansas in 1956 where she met the love of her life, Joseph Harper. They were married on September 23, 1958. They lived together happily for 28 years before he was taken from her by cancer.
She is survived by daughter, Marsha (Ken) Young of Independence, Missouri; granddaughter, Monica (Ron) Johnston); and her three grandsons that she helped to raise, Rodney (Sara) Johnson, Dalton Johnson, and Nathan Johnson; and great grandchildren, Meredith Johnston, Tatum Johnson, Kyndall Johnson, and Lakin Johnson.
To honor Barbara’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held with her family.
