Alberta’s life began on December 9, 1945, the daughter of Albert and Laura May (Cox) Pyle in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated from Circle High Scholl Class of 1963, and received her teaching certificate from Emporia State University. Bert was a homemaker, worked for the New Mexico Chamber of Commerce, El Dorado Times, a social worker and a para at Prospect School with special needs children. She retired from Interstate Battery after 20 years of service.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her two cats, Katie and Sally, cross stitching, estate and garage sales.
Her loving family includes her children, Kenneth Gardner, Michael Gardner both of Wichita, Sherry (Steve) Springer of Rosalia, Steve (Teresa) Gardner of El Dorado; sister, Gayle DaMetz of El Dorado; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nora Jean McWilliams and a brother, Tom Pyle. Bert passed away peacefully on Friday, June 22, 2018, having reached the age of 72 years old.
Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with Reverend Micki McCorkle and Reverend Steve Hysom officiating.
