Shirley’s life began on July 26, 1936 in El Dorado. She is the daughter of Charley and Eunice (Singleton) Welty. Shirley is a 1954 graduate of El Dorado High School. She was united in marriage to Clem Sander on February 19, 1955 at St. John’s Catholic Church in El Dorado. Shirley was a homemaker, wonderful wife and mother. She was a parishioner at St. John’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Her loving family includes her husband of 62 years Clem Sander of El Dorado, children Becky (Brent) Blaine of Keller, TX, Russ (Tammy) Sander of Magnolia, TX and Julie Bruno of El Dorado; grandchildren Kelly (Eric) Pruitt, Jesse Blaine, Jarod (Rachel) Sander, Jacob Sander, Stephanie Sander, Christian (Brandi) Sander, Trevor Bruno, Trent Bruno and Travis Bruno; great grandchildren Charlotte, Robert, Samuel and Jasper and her sister Dorothy Tillock of Mound Ridge. Shirley passed away on October 6, 2017 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Emily Sander and two sisters Melda Johnson and Carolyn Bidwell. Her family will gather with friends on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home where a rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church led by Father Brian Bebak. She will be laid to rest in Walnut Valley Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to St. John’s Catholic Church.
