Bob’s life began on September 25, 1932 in Potwin. He is the son of David and Anna (Wise) Ward. Bob is a graduate of Potwin High School and served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He was the owner/operator of Auto Glass Service in El Dorado for many years. Bob was united in marriage to the former B. J. Magglos on June 10, 1995 in El Dorado. He was an avid Flinthills fisherman, and KU basketball fan. Bob was a member of the American Legion. His loving family includes his wife B. J. of Rosalia, children Michael (Lissa) Ward of El Dorado, Katie Ward of Wichita, Teresa (Mike) Baker of El Dorado, Julia ( Jeff) Schauf of Wichita, and Meghan Thompson of El Dorado; step children Beth (Mike) Saranko of Plant City, FL, John Sparks of Skiatook, OK and Jeff (Becky) Sparks of El Dorado; 28 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; brother Albert Ward of Whitewater and Otis Ward of Dixon, IL and sister Helen ( John) Schumaker of Bourbon, MO. Bob passed away at his home on Sunday June 18, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Patti Smith, brother David and sister Dorthea. His family will gather with friends on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home where his funeral will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. led by Father Patrick Malone. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Potwin Cemetery. Memorials in Bob’s name may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project.
