Ida “Pauline” Ferry’s life began on October 6, 1929 in Cimarron, KS, the daughter of Alfred E. and Lena (Newport) Schouten. Pauline attended school in Piedmont, KS. She was united in marriage to Ervin E. Ferry on May 27, 1946 in Howard. Pauline worked as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Pauline passed away on September 19, 2017 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado. Her loving family includes her daughter Ervetta Ferry of El Dorado, son Ron Ferry of Potwin; she was a loving grandmother to grandson Dwayne (Michelle) Ferry of Latham; numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; brothers Bill (Roberta) Schouten of Spring, TX, Lee Schouten of Piedmont; sister Louise Lassley of Andover; brother- in- law Paul Dean of Greensburg; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Ervin; her parents; sister Barbara (Schouten) Dean; sister-in-law Sharon Schouten; brother-in-law Bill Lassley and nephew Curtis Lassley. Friends may gather with the family from 5-8 on Friday September 22 at the Carlson Funeral Home where a Service of Remembrance will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday September 23 also at the Carlson Funeral Home led by Pastor Stan Seymour. She will be laid to rest in Piedmont Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Piedmont Community Association.
