After retirement, he and JoAnn ran an antique business. He loved finding good pieces of old furniture and refinishing them. Chuck had great sense of humor and loved to tease, especially JoAnn when the grandkids were around to egg him on! He enjoyed going to events and activities that his grandkids were involved in; from plays to football, basketball, track, and cross country meets.
